Pema Thangzur

Who am I?

Hi, my name is Pema! I am a designer, illustrator, and storyteller. I'm all about injecting whimsy into my work, with an emphasis on color! I'm passionate about design systems and have experience in brand strategy, motion, UI, and page layout. My main sources of inspiration are Hilma af Klint, the Vienna Secession, and the color green. I eat, sleep, and breathe as a Tibetan woman, and my community informs my work. Because of this, I want to make design that makes change for the better for marginalized communities.

My dream project is to design a library of open-source clip-arts reflecting the Tibetan way of life for community members to utilize. Post-grad, I want to create delightful designs for sustainable, community-serving brands and organizations. In my downtime, I draw nerdy fan art and cozy little woodland critters— it takes serious elbow grease to draw little ladybugs with big world problems.
